Day 1: The Journey Begins

Late last week, I received the news that Ms. Turcotte would be closing her school. Given that Mason is 3/4 of the way through his 3rd grade year as a 2nd grader, this posed a problem with enrolling him in public school. Our solution was to home school Mason until I found work or until the new school year begins.

I got the idea to start a blog from my sister, who has also opted to home school her very bright 12 year old daughter Athena. I thought this was a brilliant way to tackle a lot of different assignments – writing and reading especially. Along with writing and reading, blogging introduces Mason to technology.

Please excuse his misspellings and grammatical errors – he's 7 and this is a learning process....

I used the computer to help me on a crossword puzzle worksheet about landforms. It was fun to do. Science we can't do because it's raining.
